Kaveri Grameena Bank was formed on 1st November 2012 on amalgamation of erstwhile Cauvery Kalpatharu Grameena Bank, Chikmagalur-Kodagu Grameena Bank and Visveshvaraya Grameena Bank. The Bank is jointly owned by Government of India (50%), Government of Karnataka (15%) and State Bank of India (35%). The Bank is intensively catering the banking needs of our clientele in our operational area spread across ten southern districts of the State viz., Mysuru, Hassan, Bengaluru Rural, Ramanagara, Bengaluru Urban, Tumakuru, Chamarajanagara, Mandya, Kodagu and Chikmagalur districts. The Bank has 502 Branches with a customer base of 42 lacs.
The Bank has its Head Office in Mysuru City and eight Regional Offices at Mysuru; Mandya; Bengaluru; Tumakuru; Hassan; Chikmagalur; Chamarajanagar and Madikeri for operational convenience and effective control. The bank is a forerunner in catering to the needs and aspirations of the farming community, business class and rural population covering 1/3rd of geographical area of Karnataka State.
All our Branches are fully computerized and functioning under Core Banking Solutions platform with 1783 dedicated personnel rendering effective, timely and needy services to our customers. The Bank has been identifying the wishes and aspirations of our customers and has a number of innovative products to suit their fund based and non-fund based financial needs.
The Bank's initiative in forming, nurturing and credit linking Self Help Groups has given micro financing activity of the bank a Godspeed and this has been appreciated in all forums. Bank has also been forming and linking Joint Liability Groups to facilitate the needy to have access to bank loans who could not offer security to avail financial assistance for income generating activities.
The Bank has registered a business growth of 18.02% during the last financial year 2016-17, reaching a level of Rs.15395.67 crores. Growth in deposits is 26.11%, whereas advances growth is 6.59%. The Bank has registered a profit of Rs.85.23 crores. Bank has taken up implementation of Financial Inclusion and
appointment of Business correspondents in villages. The Bank has been actively involved in Government of India a much acclaimed programme of Direct Benefit Transfer, Aadhar based payment of Government subsidies/ scholarships/ pensions etc. We are the first Grameena Bank in Karnataka to introduce internet banking in addition to mobile banking, RuPay ATM- Debit Cards, ATM facility, RTGS, NEFT, Mobile ATM, micro ATMs and developing other alternative delivery channels to cater the needs of customers.
We have introduced biometric authentication to ensure security and to safeguard public transactions against any eventuality. We are providing high bandwidth connectivity to branches to speed up transaction time. Table top ATMs are being provided to busy branches. The Bank has CTS system for cheque clearing. The employees are being well trained to extend hassle free service to all our customers effectively and efficiently.
